Brief Insight Into The Basic Automatic Income Info
March 31st, 2008
When it comes to getting detailed automatic income info, people usually tend to compare the pros and cons of the Forex trading with those of stock market trading. You will be glad to know that the investing in currency trading has an array of advantages over the stock market. Perhaps, the biggest advantage is that unlike stock trading, Forex investment allows you to trade twenty hours a day. What is more, in comparison to the stock market, Forex market does not have any physical location where the traders could gather and trade from. It is, in fact, a virtual global trading network that runs continuously – non-stop. This way, it is up to you to set your own schedule for trading. You get plenty of time to meet the other commitments of life while still enjoying the benefits of such investments.
You Can Use Leverage
The automatic income info seekers will also be glad to know that this form of trading also gives them the liberty to use leverage. It means that you get the ability to gain control of the enormous amount of money even if you are investing a small amount. For example, if your broker offers you 200:1 leverage, it means that you need to invest only a meager hundred dollars while you get the ability to control twenty thousand dollars. What is more, you also get a chance to use this leverage in a way to increase your profits many-fold. However, you must also be aware of the flip side of the automatic income info, as per which, in case your predictions and calculations go wrong, you may end up suffering huge losses as well. Therefore, you must have the prudence to use the leverage in a proper way, which is something that can only be earned through extensive experience. It is a bitter fact that though most of the successful traders failed initially, they learnt from their mistakes.
That is the reason why it is always recommended for you to start with the trading of a demo account first. You must follow a step-by-step approach, which in other terms, may mean a mechanical and systematical approach. Those who are aware of the basic automatic income info know that there are plenty of online Forex brokers who provide the facility of opening a demo account. The demo account is the one where you invest “virtual money”. As a result, you get “virtual” profits or “virtual” losses. Nothing is real in this demo trading except the experience that you gain. This can be an excellent way to gain the crucial experience required to succeed in such a venture. Overall, your awareness of the basic and advanced automatic income info regarding forex trading is something that will eventually determine your success.
God Is An Engineer
March 31st, 2008
We always give God creative, descriptive titles like the "Great Physician", the "Great Creator", the "Great Teacher", the "Great Provider", etc. Today, I want to add to that list.
God is the Great Engineer.
Okay, for those of you who know me, I am schooled in the sciences of mechanical engineering. God wired me to be me and with that I simply love being an engineer.
Now I know some of you are asking yourselves "but you're a pastor, don't you want to work full time in the ministry?" Yes. The answer to that question is yes, but like I said the realm of physical science just 'pops my cork'. So now that is out of the way, let me show you one simple way of how God brings those two worlds of mine together.
On Friday, a bunch of my coworkers and I were talking about cars, gas prices, new technology for transportation, new forms of energy, etc. As we were talking about energy, we started discussing the more detailed aspects of energy (i.e. potential, kenetic, and perpetual motion, etc.) At that point God revealed some crazy stuff to me. Follow me here...
Energy is defined as the ability to do work. Potential Energy is defined as stored energy in a system. If you hold a ball in your hand at waist level, that ball has potential energy. Why? Simply because gravity is pulling downward, but your hand is holding it from falling. There is potential energy stored in the ball. Now, on the same token, hold the ball above your head. The potential energy has now increased. It has the ability to do more when elevated.
Now let's insert the spiritual connection. You are now the ball. The closer we get to God (upward), the more potential you have. By increasing your potential I'm saying that you will begin to better know your Creator as father and friend, you will love others more like Jesus did, and you will be living life more of the way God intented. That is your potential! Literally speaking, the sky is the limit!
Cool!!! So what's the catch?
Yes, there is a catch. In order to store up potential energy in a system, work has to be put into that system to create potential energy. Work is defined as force multiplied by distance. Your arm lifting that ball above your head is called work. We have to work at growing closer to God. It requires time, effort, and discipline. We need to pray, study, and fellowship together with God. We have to work to build up the 'potential energy' in our God 'relationship system'.
I'm not done yet.
So you've done the work to store up potential energy in your God 'relationship system'. Now what? At this point, you are in a place to convert your potential energy into kenetic energy. Kenetic energy is defined as anything in motion. Potential energy makes kenetic energy possible. Therefore, the more potential energy you have, the greater kenetic energy you will have when released. Your kenetic energy will be the impact you have on God's Kingdom. You can input a lot of work into increasing your level of potential energy, but in the end, God wants you to use it. He wants you to release it. He wants you to be a force for Him.
Conclusion.
You've got to work to build up your potential energy with God. Then you can release your potential energy to become kenetic energy of God. Then your kenetic energy will be the impact for God! - Jonathan Ellis
I have learned that God is very consistent in all that He has created. Should we be surprised that the One who invented physical science could be described with it? I think it's pretty cool, but I'm kind of a nerd (technically speaking). What do you think?
Bidang-bidang Mechanical Engineering
March 29th, 2008

CAD Software Streamlines Medical System Design

Still River Systems is using 3D CAD software to develop a compact and affordable proton radiotherapy treatment device. Unlike conventional X-ray based radiation therapy systems, Still River Systems' Monarch250 uses proton beams for radiotherapy. Proton beam radiotherapy employs a particle accelerator device that uses electric fields to propel electrically charged particles at high speeds and then contain and shape them to output a highly focused proton beam toward a precisely defined target.
This technology can sharply reduce damage to healthy tissue by precisely focusing the radiation dose to the tumor. Proton radiotherapy is especially valuable in critical structures of the body like the eye, brain, base of the skull, spine and prostate. It also limits radiation exposure for safe treatment of children. Proton beam radiotherapy has been in use since the 1950s, but is only available in five facilities in the United States and 28 centres worldwide. While it typically costs more than US $140 million to build a proton therapy facility, Still River Systems' new design will cost hospitals only a fraction of current costs and occupy one room instead of a large city block.
'The design is challenging, with more than 10,000 parts ranging from a 1/8in long pin to a large magnet that swings on a gantry supported by bearings the size of a tractor tire', said Barry Mendell, Still River Systems' engineering services manager. 'It was assumed we were using SolidWorks from the start'. '80% of the mechanical engineer hired to participate on the project were already SolidWorks users and no one has ever questioned the choice'. 'For the remainder of the nonSolidWorks users who were experienced with other 3D modeling applications, the learning curve was minimal'.
'SolidWorks works flawlessly with our GibbsCAM software and provides the capabilities for sheet metal, weldments, process pipes, cable routing, surfacing and motion required for our various mechanical assemblies'. Still Rivers Systems uses PDMWorks data management software to control CAD file revisions and manage CAD projects and uses SolidWorks' CosmosWorks design analysis software to check the structural strength of various parts and assemblies. Renderings in SolidWorks' PhotoWorks software and videos created in SolidWorks Animator software help Still River Systems communicate project details to other parties.
More on the SAS vs. Fibre debate
March 25th, 2008
Connectivity Reliability
At some point, I had typed in a bit about the physical interfaces present on both the SAS and Fibre drives. I appears that I ran roughshod over that particular point which, upon thinking about it, is a very important dimension of drive reliability.
As noted previously, SAS drives use an amended SATA data+power connectivity schema. Instead of a notch between the data and power connections as present on SATA drives, SAS drives simply "bridge" that gap with an extra helping of plastic. This not only turns the somewhat flimsy SATA connectors into a more robust solution, it also requires that the host connector support that bridging. Interesting note here is that the SAS host connector supports SATA drives but SATA host connectors will not support SAS. This is somewhat assuaged by various host implementations (i.e. using a SAS connector on a backplane with discrete SATA data connectivity from the backplane to the mainboard) but generally, this is the rule. The SAS drives feature a male connectivity block which is mated to a female SAS connectivity block on the host system. Pretty basic stuff.
Fibre drives, on the other hand, use a SCA (single connector edge) medium that is again male on the drive side and female on the host side. Definitely more simplistic in design and implementation (and is featured within all current EMC arrays) and honestly, when push comes to shove, something I would trust inherently more with protection. The same idea is present with SCA80 Ultra320 SCSI drives as well. The fitment here is definitely more secure with less design stress placed on the physical connector (and thusly the PCB itself) than with the SAS solution.
There are always caveats with distinct designs, however, and I'd like to highlight some below.
a.) The SAS data+power connector is inherently MORE secure than the standard SATA interface. Truth be told, I've broken SATA data connectors. It's really not hard since the data connection is a discrete "tab" from the power interface (which I've broken as well). The addition of the plastic "bridge" between data and power connections on SAS drives promotes a stronger bond between the connector (whether that be SFF or backplane based) and the drive itself. It also keeps folks from mistakenly connecting SAS drives to SATA ports. ;)
b.) The SAS interface is still prone to breakage as compared to SCA40/80 connections. There's a reason why we do a conversion within our drive caddies from SATA to Fibre (outside of the obvious protocol translation and sniffer obligations): it's more secure. The mating mechanism within the SCA interface provides no single point of stress on the connector as there is a nesting process that takes place. Not so with the SAS interface: you have a significant protrusion into the caddy area that, if improperly aligned, can cause damage. If you misalign the SCA interface, you can't make the connection and there's no protrusion difficulties.
Note: The good news in all of this (at least from my perspective @ EMC) is that we're not going to allow you to screw this connectivity up. ;) We mount the drives in our carriers, put them in the array and, well, we've got you covered. ;)
In any case, this is really for further clarification from yesterday's post. Hopefully that will give a little more food for thought.

Forts
March 25th, 2008
Nobody makes sweet forts anymore. Be they blanket, pillow, tree or otherwise, I just don't see them being made enough. It has been ages since I went to a friend's house and was moved to exclaim, "That is a SWEET fort, dude".
This simply has to change. Most of us have been as far through the academic wringer as we may ever go. We know about abstraction and symbolism. Just think about how sweet a pillow or tree fort could be made by so-and-so with her Masters in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T.? I think the golden age of forts is yet to come.
So I say to you, readers of this blog, make forts. Take pictures of these forts and post them somewhere so that I and others yearning to see sweet forts can see them. Is there something like this already? Tell me if there is. I am pretty ignorant to the internet these days.
